Saturday 28th April - Homerton vs HomeGrown

After a refreshing holiday in which everyone revised their socks off (....), we returned to Cambridge for the last term this year. The first match of the term was a match with HomeGrown. Having come only lost the previous match with them 11-9, the Homertonians were hopeful to put up a good show in this match.

Arriving at Parker's piece, we were greeted, once again, with strong winds and the cold. Homerton pulled to HomeGrown start off the first point, whose offensive was met by the new "wall" tactic by Homerton. Homegrown were not phased by this initially and managed to pull the first point ahead. The second point went to Homerton, Homegrown the next, and it was looking like a repeat of last match, with alternate points between the two teams.

This however was not the case. A consistent string for great, almost pitch-length, throws from HomeGrown, along with some huge catches with the Homerton end zone, meant that HomeGrown pulled away, with half time being reached at 7-1. In the second half, the Homertonians came back revitalised managing to score a long and very tiring point thanks to great defending and quick offense, but HomeGrown also managed two of their own. After an hour's play the score was 9-2, which the end being at 10 points. We did not have to wait long for this, with one final deep cut from Homegrown, the disc was caught and the game brought to an end at 10-2.

Once again, despite the weather, the game was an awesome one, and we look forward to playing HomeGrown again in the near future.
